Change can lead to people taking on new roles and responsibilities. At the same time internal resources may be particularly stretched, leaving people feeling unsupported. During periods of change, I bring additional expertise as well as a different perspective, supporting permanent members of staff to develop new ways of working and deliver strategic objectives.
As part of an intensive period of organisational restructuring, one area of this business was called on to form new teams and work in new ways. In conjunction with the senior managers, I devised and led a series of team development events designed to encourage people to become high performance teams.
One particular team needed specific additional skills development around influential communication. This took the form of group sessions around delivering presentations to the senior management team, as well as individual coaching to help them move from technical experts to trusted advisors and business partners.
As a result of the project, the teams were able to move from being largely reactive and inward looking to providing vital support to strategic decision making across the whole organisation.
